Let good stories be not just words and imagination, instead move towards the ultimate goal of visualization!

《Your Vision,Our Mission》

Your Vision, Our Mission aims to bring together creators with potentials and original content from all parties, and base on practical production plans to jointly adapt imaginative text entry into visualization. Integrate the review suggestions from various professional fields in the industry throughout the selection process with a hope to promote a close cooperation and consensus between text and image creators in order to jointly create fascinating image entry, present the film in a richer and more moving appearance to the audience, and go global stage together!

Category

(Please download the form provided for this event to prepare the film content)

Category A: A feature film with the script completed and ready for production.

  • Category: 90 minutes (inclusive) feature script
  • Content: Complete dialogue script, character description (within 400-500 words), treatment (within 800-1,200 words), and logline (within 200 words)

Category B: Treatment content with comprehensive logline and structure

  • Category: Story treatment (within 8,000-10,000 words)
  • Contents: Pitch deck (500 words), characters (250 words), worldview/character relationship description, story treatment (within 8,000-10,000 words), and logline (within 200 words)

Evaluation Procedure

Category A

Evaluate the contents submitted. The team of Wanin Visual Enterprise (hereinafter referred to as the “organizer”) shall conduct Stage 1 evaluation with the selection made as follows:

  • Category A: 6 nominated screenplays.
  • Category B: 6 nominated treatment entry.

Category B

Evaluated by the organizer and co-organizer, together with professional evaluators in the industry. Select the entry nominated in Stage 1 evaluation on the pitch day:

  • Category A: (At least) 1 screenplay selected
  • Category B: (At most) 3 treatment entry selected

Results Announcement

Category A

The nominated entry shall be announced on the event website and shall be notified by Email (individual notification by Mail shall be done in November)

Category B

After the nominees submit their pitch decks on the pitch day, the organizer and the review team shall perform the final evaluation and announce the selected projects.

  • Deadline for submitting pitch deck:
    Category A, 10 minutes for each group, 5 minutes for pitching, and 5 minutes for reviewers’ QA
    Category B, 12 minutes for each group, 7 minutes for pitching, and 5 minutes for reviewers’ QA

  • Note
    The nominate after Stage 1 evaluation is deemed to have the right to sign a contract with the organizer for the nominated entry and agrees that the organizer has the priority to develop the project. In addition, the “Nomination Category Consent Form” shall be signed (those who fail to sign the Form shall be deemed as a waiver, and shall be replaced by the alternative candidate). The selected applicant in Stage 2 evaluation shall be deemed as agreeing to sign a licensing contract or other cooperation contract with the organizer for the selected entry. All the nominated entry, except for the selected entry, shall receive a prize money of NT$80,000 per project for Category A and NT$60,000 per project for Category B. The organizer shall withhold taxes and supplementary health insurance fees lawfully, and shall have payments remitted within 90 days after the event ended.

Selected Project

  • Category A: The total investment amount for a single project is up to NT$100 million!

At least 1 person shall be selected.
The selected applicant and the organizer shall sign a script licensing contract for the selected project. The organizer shall have rights to invest, produce, and distribute after having the licensing contract signed; also, commits to invest at least NT$20 million in each project, and up to NT$100 million in script licensing fees and production budget.

  • Category B: The selected applicant and the organizer shall sign an entry licensing contract for a minimum of NT$100,000 per project.

Maximum 3 persons shall be selected.
If both parties agree consensually to have the entry adapted into a complete script by the selected applicant, a script development contract for an amount not less than NT$500,000 shall be signed with the organizer (the selected applicant shall choose to have one of the aforementioned two contracts signed).

Term and Condition

  • The nominee with entry nominated shall have the “Nomination Category Consent Form” (those who fail to sign shall be deemed to have had a waiver and shall be replaced by an alternative candidate) signed and start preparing a pitch presentation.
  • The nominees shall provide the final version of the presentation submitted to the organizer before the specified date and present a pitch deck on the pitch day (For applicants come from overseas, the organizer shall provide airplane tickets, accommodation, and other travel expenses to one person per project. Please refer to the “Nomination Category Consent Form” for details. Those who fail to arrive at the site (or online) on the pitch day to present pitches shall be deemed as a waiver and shall be replaced by an alternative candidate).
  • The evaluators shall select the final selectees of each category group on the pitch day with the commendation and selection certificates on the pitch day.
  • A maximum of 3 selectees shall be selected for Category B of this event. However, the organizer shall have it adjusted based on specific circumstances. If no entry is nominated in Stage 1 evaluation, no selectee shall be selected for Category B. Please bring your attention to this explanation.
  • A gathering party shall be arranged after the award ceremony with the nominees and selectees invited to communicate with the evaluators, distinguished guests, and the organizer.
  • For all selected projects that have a contract signed with the organizer, the nomination prize money is already included in the licensing fees.
  • The organizer may withhold taxes and supplementary health insurance fees lawfully for all nomination prize money and licensing fees in this event before having the amount transferred to the designated account.

Late submission shall be deemed as an unsuccessful submission (Please indicate the file name according to the instructions: 【Your Vision, Our Mission】Open call_Project Title_Category A/B_Representative Name)

Notification method: The notification of the projects evaluated and nominated by the organizer shall be made by Mail, also, the list of nominees shall be announced on the event website in November.

Who Can Apply and Contest Instructions

1. All applicants shall guarantee that the copyrights of the entries are created and owned by the applicants. The organizer shall reject any entry involved in a copyright dispute and other related disputes. If any dispute or concern over plagiarism of other people’s entry occurs in the future, or the entry is not originally created by the applicant, the organizer has the right to disqualify the questionable entry; also, the paid licensing fees (including but not limited to nomination prize money, licensing fees for the selected projects, etc.) for the contracts signed with the nominees or the organizer shall be recovered; also, the organizer shall demand compensation for damages.

2. The event allows each entry to be submitted in only one category, but there is no limit to the number of submissions. In addition, no “one project multiple submissions” is permitted (for example: Competitions or activities that are with an open call initiated at the same time as this event, entries with the open call ended but the results not yet announced or have not been closed, or other similar situations).

3. The entry shall have not been developed or produced in any way, including but not limited to signing a cooperation contract with other units, or having been nominated or awarded in any other private activities (except for awards from government units, please see the application form on the event website for details). If the project has been submitted to other open call but was not nominated, it can be enrolled to compete in this event (please indicate the open call activities on the application form and guarantee that the rights of the project are flawless).

4. If the entry is a creation of a joint effort, the number of creators shall be indicated in the application form with one of them designated as the main contact person, and all the creators shall agree to the application rules. If the entry is nominated subsequently, all the creators shall sign the “Nomination Category Consent Form.”

5. Applicants who apply with the entry submitted are deemed to have understood and agreed to the open call rules, and agreed to the organizer’s collecting their personal information; also, agreed to comply with all the aforementioned regulations (including the category in “Instructions for Nomination”). For the offenders who failed to make correction upon the request of the organizer, the organizer has the right to disqualify the offenders and recover the awards and prize money, as well as the compensation for damages occurred to the organizer.

6. If there are any unaddressed matters in the open call of this event, the organizer has the right to have them amended at any time and have them published on the event website. The organizer reserves the right to interpret this event.
